inconsoWMS X manages decoration ideas

Boltze Ideen, with its headquarters in Ahrensburg, retails and delivers business customers European wide with living ideas and decorative accessories. The north German company commissioned inconso AG with the implementation of a warehouse management and control system for the warehouse locations in Bad Oldesloe and Ahrensburg.

In Bad Oldesloe, decoration and living accessories are stored in 47,000 square meters and 55,000 pallet locations and shipped out daily on up to 1,000 pallets. In the logistics, there are more than 100 workers. The sample warehouse in Ahrensburg supplies customers with the newest trends for the coming season. In addition, this location serves as an overflow warehouse for the logistics center in Oldesloe. The company has seasonal theme worlds – meaning that the assortment is replaced up to 70 percent yearly.

Boltze Ideen strives to achieve a two-step reorganization: First, the existing warehouse management system will be replaced by the flexible inconsoWMS X that covers the current requirements and the future growth and changes of the business processes through parameterization and extension of the system with modules. In the second step, the Ahrensburg location will be replaced with a new warehouse in Stapelfeld/Braak in 2013. The warehouse management software inconsoWMS X will be used here as well. The warehouse management and control system delivers a high level of transparency over all the stock and a traceability of all processes. The flexibility offered by inconsoWMS X was a decisive factor in the acquisition phase and the decision made by Boltze Ideen to commission inconso AG with the project.
